Mission:
The Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance provides leadership and expertise to West Chester University to ensure equitable access and opportunities are a shared responsibility. We do this by offering policy guidance, education, collaborative partnerships, outreach, and complaint resolution to create welcoming environments that enable everyone to succeed.
Vision:
Cultivate in every interaction, policy, and practice- environments that are free from harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct through a culture of respect and valuing differences.
Goals:
- Monitor and support a positive campus climate
- Provide educational opportunities and facilitate professional development that promotes a greater understanding of identities, inequities, multiculturalism, inclusion and social justice
- Enhance and support campus efforts to increase access, retention, engagement, and success of faculty, staff and students.
- Monitor and recommend policies that promote equitable learning and working environments free from discrimination and harassment.
- Ensure compliance with Equal Employment/Educational Opportunity, Title IX and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) through well-defined measures, procedures, data collection and analysis.
- Identify and advocate for resources which enhance institutional diversity and inclusion initiatives across the university.
